nintendofiend:

Has anybody ever heard of this charming little tale called “Clockwork Girl”? Because I would like to talk about it.

I picked up this little gem at a bookstore a year ago and I really enjoyed it. It was originally a six issue comic series created by  Sean O’ Reilly and Kevin Hanna. I don’t want to give away too much of the books story but It’s your typical Romeo and Juliet story about rival families and forbidden love. There’s some very inspired art in it and it’s generally heartwarming, my little nephew really enjoyed it.

I was very pleased to hear that a motion picture adaption was going to be released for it. Unfortunately  this trailer here was released about 3 years ago and it’s the most information, to my knowledge, provided about the film. That’s a shame because This story, albeit done to death, does have a lot of heartwarming charm that carries it through and you can tell there was a very sincere effort put into it.

If you ever stumble upon this gem, I would encourage you to pick it up. It’s worth your time. It’s now available in a collection and you could probably find it at the graphics novel section in your local bookstore.

I do hope more people read this book. I think it deserves a bit more recondition.

thank you, you’re mighty kind.

I’m Kevin Hanna, I directed the Clockwork Girl feature film, based on the graphic novel by the same name that I co-created with Sean O’Reilly.

It airs on television Jan 12th and It stars the great Jesse McCartney, Jeffrey Tambor, Carrie-Anne Moss, Brad Garrett, and Alexa Vega as the Clockwork Girl. details here:
